George Smith Hogg was Archdeacon of Cashel and Emly from 1965〔“A New History of Ireland” Moody,T.W; Martin,F.X; Byrne,F.J;Cosgrove,A: Oxford, OUP, 1976 ISBN 0-19-821745-5〕 to 1980.
He was born on 20 April 1910 in Ballacolla,〔(Genealogical web-site )〕 educated at Trinity College, Dublin and ordained in 1934. His first post was as Curate of Crossduff. He was Curate in charge at Sallaghy then Rector of Clonoulty.
